I couldn’t do this blog without putting in my family favorite the Bagel-Eggel-Cheesel. This is a wonderful breakfast sandwich or anytime sandwich. I don’t know where the name came from. I think it just happened one morning and it stuck.

This a dish that every time we have a family get together up home my neice always wants me to make this for her. It’s been a long time since I’ve made it and she’s due to have it next time I go home. It’s different and tastes fantastic. Sounds strange with the pretzels but the salt in the pretzels makes the strawberries so much sweeter. It doesn’t keep well over 2 days because the pretzel crust gets soggy but it’s worth making no matter what.

My husband and I were on the carb diet at one point. It was hard for me to find enough carb free things to eat and that I enjoyed eating. I’m not saying this is recipe should be on any “diet” but at the time we thought it was OK to eat it. But it tasted GREAT!

As you read through this recipe you are going to think it sounds incredibly boring. I’m here to tell you it’s not, and my husband will verify. Every time I make this or even think of making it I think of my late daughter. She also loved it. The combination of the meat, soup and tator tots creates an interesting taste. Try to eat all in one bite to get the real experience. And talk about quick and easy. (more…)
